Dog Park Saturday

Let's go to the dog park! That's Eddie on the left, Diamond in the middle, and Loni on the right.

We met up with Keeko's new family. Eddie photobombed Keek's new momma and brother Cajun.

Keeko! He was excited to see me but didn't try to leave with me so all is good.

Loni seemed to enjoy the park and behaved really well. We had no idea what to expect.

Now all three dogs are passed out ;)

Easter

My mom and the cousins joined us for Easter dinner today. We had the traditional ham with scalloped potatoes, cornbread salad, deviled eggs, coconut cake, and chocolate pie. Most of the photos I took today were of the new dog. Sorry Eddie.

I couldn't locate my Easter wreaths for the front door (because our garage is so messy) so I just created a little welcoming Easter vignette.

The new foster, Loni, in an Easter dress (it was my sweet Daisey's).

Diamond also wearing one of Daisey's old Easter dresses but she was unhappy because not only did  bath them today, but I put the hat on her head too.

Ham ready to go into the oven.

Loni enjoying Easter dinner (the dresses were only on long enough for a photo)

Loni, well fed and groomed, hunkering down for the night.

Lineage Society Meeting

My mother and I belong to 3 lineage societies. On Saturday we attended the annual Memorial Day meeting of UDC complete with re-enactors shooting off a cannon.

My mom is to the left of the wreath and I am behind her.

We had several varieties of deviled eggs - guess that is to be expected with a bunch of southern  women cooking!

It's Gonna Be Quite A Weekend

On Saturday I have a lineage society meeting and also have to drive a piece to pick up my next foster dog who is being transported from Miami. Yup, I said new foster dog! I think I will keep her it's details a secret until she it arrives and I get photos.

Sunday is Easter, of course, and I am cooking. The cousins are coming over as well as my mom. I'm so behind on life that I still have my Mardi Gras wreaths on the front door - better take care of that tonight!

On top of all of this we need to fit time in to clean out Marge's ALF room. I think we have been avoiding it partially because we've been busy and sick but also it's facing her death head on. It all seems sort of unreal. Perhaps that is because we were not at the Hospice when she passed.

Guess I better get a good night's sleep!

Keeko Has Gone To His Furever Home

Amidst all the sadness of Marge's passing, we did have one very happy event. Keeko found his forever home! He will be living nearby so I will be able to see him and watch him grow up. Here's a little collage I did of him - the photo in the center is his new parents.

Margaret Carmichael

We've spent a lot of time and energy over the last year to ensure that Jerry's mom had a comfortable life. Our job ended yesterday at 12:20 when she took her last breath.

RIP Marge (1921-2014)
