Kitchen Wierdness

I will start by saying that for a while I thought my photography skills had improved; however, I've taken mostly lousy photos for the last couple weeks. In fact, that is why you haven't seen much in the way of photos on my blog - don't have any decent shots. I don't know what happened but I am once again the world worst photographer!

The appliances in my kitchen are wearing out. The house turned 20 last year and the stove and fridge are original so I guess it's time to replace. I'm shopping online and thought I would look around my kitchen to see what might look right and how things might fit. Instead, I realized just how wierd our kitchen is.

The freezer - ice trays to make ice but we still use the bin of the ice maker that no longer works. Half of the stuff in the freezer is coffee beans. There's also the handle part to the SonicCare toothbrush (don't ask me, DH's idea), lots of those blue ice pack things, a pretty blue bottle of Bombay, some frozen fruit cups. No idea why fruit cups are in there since they don't need to be refrigerated, must less frozen. Might of been one of those moments when I put the cat food in the fridge and the milk in the cabinet.

The range. Oven no longer works, not sure about broiler, stove does. Now how many people have giant scallops shells on their stove? Those were from the days when I was a "fancy cook". I won't miss this range because it is red LCD and the kitchen is so sunny I have difficulty reading the temperature and to know it the oven is preheated.

My refrigerator magnets. I don't care what the professional decorators say, I believe we NEED refrigerator magnets!

Look what I found in the fridge....hubby bought it to take to work tomorrow. Looks yummy - I love fruity desserts. This thing is calling me. I will have to sleep with a pillow over my head tonight so I don't hear it.

Ha ha ha! I love my refrigerator magnets also!!!

I have recently fallen madly in love with Jamaican Easter Bun, or Spiced Bun, form the carribean market. I made 2 loaves from scratch last weekend, and then my Mom found one at a Publix in the spanish section...and a few slices with butter has sort of taken over my life this past week! Oh goodness. Don't even think about it!!! :)

My husband ate his ice cream bar and then my ice cream bar and lived to tell the tale... it was 3 am - I didn't discover it until the next night at 9 ... I let him live :) Jennifer
