Former Foster & Butt/Body Collage

Just a little doodling with Pixlar and photos of my former fosters (by the way, we are adopting the old gal, Diamond) and one where I assembled the leashed up and ready to go butt shots. The butt/body shots include the beautiful Miss Daisey (miss her everyday) but excludes Peanut. Peanut was an accidental foster and I didn't have a digital camera at the time.

Easter

My mom and the cousins joined us for Easter dinner today. We had the traditional ham with scalloped potatoes, cornbread salad, deviled eggs, coconut cake, and chocolate pie. Most of the photos I took today were of the new dog. Sorry Eddie.

I couldn't locate my Easter wreaths for the front door (because our garage is so messy) so I just created a little welcoming Easter vignette.

The new foster, Loni, in an Easter dress (it was my sweet Daisey's).

Diamond also wearing one of Daisey's old Easter dresses but she was unhappy because not only did  bath them today, but I put the hat on her head too.

Ham ready to go into the oven.

Loni enjoying Easter dinner (the dresses were only on long enough for a photo)

Loni, well fed and groomed, hunkering down for the night.

Keeko Has Gone To His Furever Home

Amidst all the sadness of Marge's passing, we did have one very happy event. Keeko found his forever home! He will be living nearby so I will be able to see him and watch him grow up. Here's a little collage I did of him - the photo in the center is his new parents.

Keeko The Giant Puppy

Pardon my lack of posts about my foster Keeko. He is so active that I have to keep my eyes on him, and off the keyboard. He's damaged 2 pairs of shoes and a Tampa Bay Rays baseball cap. He's had numerous other items iDn his mouth, including my car keys, that I have saved from harm. We just aren't accustomed to a puppy or a dog this big. He's worn this middle aged couple out!

All that said, he is absolutely a doll. Sweet, affectionate, comical, loving, and very active.  He's even convinced our old guy Eddie to play. Diamond is another story - their interactions usually result in the giant puppy trying to hide from her either in my lap or between me and the chair I am occupying.

He went on the Ratbone Website recently and already has an application in ! http://www.ratbonerescues.com/available_response.php?name=keeko&submit=Find%21
From his bio on the webpage you can access his image event page as well.

I Got A New Foster And His Name Is Keeko

Leaving the Miami-Dade shelter where he wasn't offered on the adoption floor
Enjoying grass again and getting ready to start his journey to central Florida
Keeko is a giant rat terrier, possibly a Decker, and didn't fit in the crate the shelter puller brought so he got to ride in the back seat on his 4 car transport.
Everyone who transported him thought he was a sweet baby (he's young) and huge for a rattie.

Finally......Clearwater! I brought a toy in our car and he was so excited that he wouldn't let go of it and carried it into the house. I bet he missed having toys while he was incarcerated.

LIttle learning curve at the dog door
He's trying to make friends with Eddie - not going so well

"Someone" Got A New Foster!

His name is Declan. Yes, I still have Diamond. In fact, we are coming up on 1 year with her. Deckie turned 6 in January and is very sweet. I suspect he will adopt out quickly because he is really a good boy although he will NOT face a camera.

My Second Foster, Peanut

I started volunteering for Ratbone back in the pre-blog days (2004). My first foster was Eddie (who I adopted) but my second was Peanut. She actually feel like my first because she was the first one that I had to let go.

She was a tiny little thing, only 9 pounds. Barely bigger than my chihuahua Chloe and let me tell you, there wasn't enough room in this house for both of those Divas! She was very sweet, loving, and would do just about anything for food!

Here she is with Eddie. They were great buddies and she followed him around like a puppy although she was actually older than him.

Her arrival is a long story but i will try to be make it short - I did a home visit of her adopters, then I transported her and a couple other dogs from a meeting place in Ocala to Clearwater where her new family took her. Week later they called saying they didn't have enough time for her. They seemed impatient about Ratbone picking her up (she was supposed to go back to her original fostermama according tot he "rules") so my husband, who goes to bed around 8:30 and NEVER leaves the house once he is has his jammies on, said "if they don't want her there than we should go get her." Gotta love him for that one.

So, 9:15 at night we got dressed, got in the car, and went and picked her up. She was a joy in every way except her relationship with Chloe. She went to people who immediately fell in love with her and brought a doggie bag from Perkins to her at first meeting (there was a terrible accident on the trip to meet them and the interstate was stopped so her new family grabbed dinner while waiting on us).

Her new family kept contact for a couple months and then nothing. I know in my heart she is doing well with her new family.

Meet Foxy Roxy!

This is my new foster dog, Foxy Roxy. She should be with us at least 5 weeks because she is undergoing treatment for heart worms. She was found as a stray in Jefferson Parish, near New Orleans. She should adopt out quickly because she is super sweet, housebroken, and cute as a bug!
