Still No Camera But I Have Ratbone Photos!

I took a little time off from Ratbone during graduation and my Dad's visit (he is still in Florida but visiting my Aunt this week) so I missed a week or so of posting the new dogs. Sorry to those who enjoy the photos:( Remember, if you are interested in seeing more go to Ratbone Rescues web site...or Petfinder.com...or 1-800 Save-A-Pet!

More Ratbone Dogs Hoping For Forever Homes

First photo is Hoss. He is being fostered in Alabama. He was left at a shelter when his owners moved. He was in the euthanasia room but started screaming and clung to and kissed the shelter worker when they tried to lay him on the table. They decided to spare his life if a rescue would take him. How can you resist those eyes!

Second photo is Little Joe who is also being fostered in Alabama. He lost his home and family due to a divorce situation. Look at that soft fur - don't you just want to snuggle up with him?

Third photo is Major. His foster family is in Michigan. He was left at shelter by his former family with instructions to euthanize him. Luckily, Ratbone Rescues was able to squeeze him into a foster home. What beautiful markings.

This last photo is of Sunset who is being fostered in my state - Florida! Her owners moved and were unable to take her with them. Somebody looks ready to find a new family to love.

If you or someone you know is looking for a pet, please consider adoption. PLEASE spay or neuter your pets and for goodness sakes, don't leave a pet at a KILL shelter!

Happy Valentine's Day

e

This year is the first year that I didn't feel a little excitement toward Valentine's day. This year it just feels commercial. I did present my sweety with some sweets and he brought home some peach roses. They are beautiful. I left little gift bags with candy and heart socks for the team at work. I did all the right things but it just felt like I was buying into commercialism for some reason.
I'm attaching photos of two dogs who recently came into Ratbone - the rescue group I am a volunteer for. Ive probably mentioned I am their pet publicist and I make sure they are represented on Petfinder.com. If you are ever needing a four-legged family member, be sure to consider adoption!

Dog Days

Back to school this week, thus the fewer blog posts. Christmas tree is still up - trying to convince friends and family that I am Russian Orthodox (Orthodox celebrate Christmas on Jan 7th :)

Tonight, after a Red Lobster dinner with mom, I'm watching a new show on National Geographic called "Dog Town" - informative but disturbing. The kind of show where you have to concentrate on the good outcomes. Ironically, I was doing my volunteer job for Ratbone Rescues (http://www.ratbonerescues.com/) while watching.

Ratbone is a non-profit rescue group that rescues and rehomes abandoned Rat Terriers. Many rescue groups work locally but Ratbone is a network of rescuers, foster homes, drivers, and other volunteers all over the country (ok, not in AK or HI). While it is more economical to adopt out dogs in their foster area, Ratbone will do transports to ensure that the right dog gets to the right home.

One of my volunteer jobs with Ratbone is as a pet publicist. I update our pet information with Petfinder, an all-breed, national, internet-based pet rescue venue where different groups can advertise dogs needing homes. If you or someone you know are looking for a best friend, please check out http://www.petfinder.com/

Remember to spay & neuter and put us out of business!

Photo is of a Ratbone dog looking for a home - how handsome is he????
