Secret Santa Diamond
Secret Santa Declan!
Each year Ratbone Rescues organizes a Secret Santa for dogs in foster care. Good Samaritans can volunteer to send gifts to a foster dog by picking one from the web site. Declan got his box first.
He was very interested in the smell of the box until Diamond came over to claim it then he wanted nothing to do with it for fear of Diamond. So, I took him in the bedroom, alone, hoping that would help.
He was a little freaked out and worried that the packages belonged to Diamond so I had to open them for him.
Secret Santa - Eddie
Eddie was in a gift exchange on Katie Scarlet & Co, a social networking of pet lovers. He got a SS gift from Texas and sent one to Kentucky.
Even with pushy Diamond in the way, Eddie managed to grab a package from the box and carry it off to open. This time he picked out something that smelled yummy. They looked so yummy I almost tried one!
Eddie is eating his cookie, notice all the crumbs, and sticking near his rat.

Another Daisy
Remember the photo a few days ago of my Daisey modeling some fleece jammies that I made and was sending to Indiana? Well, Indiana Daisy received them and here she is modeling them. Ain't she cute in her jammies?

You can see she is thinner than my Daisey. Her mama says she's thin in he body and heavy in the chest.
This poor Daisey didn't get her Secret Santa presents so some of us went together and sent her gifts. She got a new collars, my jammies, chewies and toys.

Secret Santa
I posted photos of my Secret Santa exchange recipients from Rat-Terrier.com but I also received a photo of my Secret Santa recipient through Ratbone Rescues. With Ratbone it is not an exchange but instead it is a sponsorship of a foster dog in need. I am so happy that he was happy with his gifts. I sent gifts to two fosters but the foster mom doesn't have digital access right now - the one pictured below was adopted as his package arrived so the new family got to open his box and take photos. If you would like to see a bunch of happy dogs, check it out by clicking here for the imagevent album or here for the Ratbone blog listing.
Oh Mickey before his Secret Santa box arrived
Oh Mickey after his box arrived. Doesn't he look handsome in his new sweater?

Secret Santa Photos

Thought I would share photos of Minnie & Sadie in California wearing the items I sewed for them from the Secret Santa swap on Rat-Terrier.com. Minnie is a rat terrier, with a tail ,and Sadie is a rattie-corgi mix. Both are adorable! It still bothers me that it took two weeks to get my package to California but less tha a week to Ne WYork and only a couple days to Wisconsin. What's wrong with California???? And how is it that Wisconsin gets such excellent service?Monday, December 22, 2008
Secret Santa
Members of RatTerrier.com had a Secret Santa program this year. Eddie & Daisey received a box from Slidell Lousiana full of toys, treats, and a pretty pink sweater for Miss D. We mailed our box to California but they haven't received it yet - hopefully today.
And, they wouldn't rip up paper like in the posts of other Rat Terriers receiving their Secret Santa gifts. I started to show them and encourage them but Jerry reminded me it might be best if they weren't paper shredders because they can't distinguish "their" gifts from "ours". Good point.
Miss Daisey sniffing one of Eddie's toys. I think she was scanning for what parts she could chew off first. These Rat Rerriers love to destuff, desqueak, and distruct their toys.
Yummy, freeze-dried chicken livers! They loved these but mom & dad are less enthusiastic to hand them out because they STINK! Actually they are a very nice gift.
Ed took off with each toy as I unwrapped than and then he would see the next one unwrapped and come back and grab that it. He is a toy monster!
Miss D got a new sweater and it looks fabulous on her! The other side has the button detail but she was prancing so much it was hard to get a shot of her.
Eddie with all his loot. I attempted to prop the bulley stick up on him too but you can see that's never gonna work, LOL.
And Daisey's stuff. See the big red nose on that toy in the upper left, well that nose was gone in 5 minutes flat.
We purged all the old flat toys from the toy basket and now I love how all the new, clean toys look in the box. They only had a couple toys worth keeping and those are in the laundry. You can see Eddie is looking for his old, flat, funky toys - compare that to a previous post by clicking "here". Oh, and check out that same moose again in the upper left - notice the missing nose.
Daisey & Ed were a bit cautious about getting into their stockings. They sniffed them but I had to take the gifts out. They are way too polite for Rat Terriers, LOL.

Secret Santa Vest
I have this all boxed up and ready to go along with other gifts for some lucky doggies. I participated in a Secret Santa on Rat-Terrier.com. I barely got this completed due to sewing machine issues. Whew........... This one goes with the dragonfly vest and two pairs of the pajamas previously shown. I also sent chewies, treats, and a couple toys - one toy being that indestructible type. We'll see. LOL
