I'm fight a battle agaisnt fleas on my ratties. I don't know where I went wrong. I've been using FrontlinePlus on them but they got fleas anyway. Perhaps it's because I did not adjust the dosage when Eddie gained weight or perhaps because I bought it online instead of a known source. The ratties have been getting bath after bath and a couple nights ago I used a flea bath and there are still fleas! Now I've given them a second dose of Frontline only 3 weeks after the last. I was afraid of overdosing them but they seem OK. Tomorrow I will try the flea bath again. Someone told me to put cornstarch on them. Anyone heard of this?Thursday, January 22, 2009

Oh poor things)-: I hate fleas. I use a flea bath for Jack if he gets them which is not very often. Also a flea dip works well too. The drops work usually also. Check with your local PetCo or Vet and ask what is going on. Maybe we have a new strain of flea? Ewwww I hate to think of that. Good luck and give the rats a pat for me(-: Oh and an extra treat too(-:
I could not get rid of fleas one time, until I put Borax powder on my carpets and furniture! Not on the dog though! I also changed to Revolution. I also used a spray that I just bought at Walgreens after each bath...the fleas would just fall off and it kept them off....can't remember name, but it worked great! Good luck!
Move to Kodiak, AK - no fleas on Kodiak. I know this because once our dogs were itching and Zoya was convinced they had fleas. That is until the vet told us it was impossible. Patrick
I constantly battle fleas..and ticks..living back in the woods! Let me know if you hear anymore on the cornstarch, that would be a cheap fix! I have seven indoor pets!
