Thought I would post this Sloppy Joe tutorial because it's an easy, quick, and tasty dinner after a long work day. Also, nice and hearty for a winter meal. I often forget about this meal when I am trying to come up with something that I can make quickly.
I'm using ground turkey, tomato paste, and chopped onions, bell peppers, and celery that you can buy already chopped up because I've misplaced my snorkel mask. Plus, it makes it faster for a work night. Oh, and I also bought the sloppy joe spices in a package in the spice aisle. All very convenient and inexpensive.
I like to sweat the veggies to get some of the moisture out and to make them more mellow in the sandwiches. Then I let them sit while I do everything else.
Brown the turkey and add water (as per the spice package instructions) which helps to keep from sticking since I don't use any cooking oils in my non-stick Calphelon.
Here's everything before the final mixup and simmer. I believe it's supposed to cook for 15 - 20 minutes. The aroma is divine.
Dinner is served! Change out of your white blouse or wear a bib because they are messy but yummy;) Oh, and let me know if this post motivates you to make Sloppy Joes this week, LOL.

Delicious! That last pic makes me want to get up and go back to the store (I just got back home from there). My stepson arrives either tonight or tomorrow (if he stops to sleep or not)...and he would probably love this for dinner one night!!! YUM!!
