Green Thumb Sunday - Palm Seeds

Once again I mislaid the thingy that charges up my digital camera so I was without images all week. I took these photos in my backyard after I saw a bunchof palm tree seeds in the jacuzzi. I hadn't even noticed the beautiful seed pods hanging above until discovering them on my level - the ground. LOL. Should be some very happy squirrels soon!
Oh - click on the images to make larger so you can actually see the beautiful seeds.

Here we don't really notice the pinecones in the pine trees unless the squirrels are in the tree knocking them loose. The green pinecones weigh about 5 pounds each.
They get up there and they cut them loose and its scary when they come flying down!
We say they are bombing us.
They actually do it on purpose! I am not kidding!
I think they try to drop them on Jack but he is to quick and gets out of the way fast!
Palm seeds seem much nicer!!!

Some of these seeds can be so beautiful...I had a gorgeous date palm in Gainesville and loved it! Now we have Areca palm and a Cabbage palm and they just seem like more of a nuisance than anything!!!

Beautiful!!! I miss those palm trees. They just scream warm weather! Send me some of those seeds to grow indoors here in Utah... :)
