Jakey Update!

Jake's new mom sent photos! In previous message she said they are getting along well and that he is the perfect dog for her. How great is that!?!?!?! I see the little stinker let him take a head on shot - I had him for months and never got a shot that good because he always turned his head.

Green Thumb Sunday

Our lawn took a beating this winter. Between the cinch bugs, cold weather, and dry spell we are no longer in compliance with the association rules of maintaining a healthy lawn. Personally, I believe lawns are a waste of resources yet it would be a mess without some sort of covering. Doesn't really matter though because we have a contractural agreement to maintain a green lawn. Anyway, we put in over 300 plugs and just as we finished today, it started raining. Really raining. Thank you mother nature!

Haven't spent much time outside so it was exciting to see what is blooming.

I'll blog about my trip to drop Jakey off tomorrow or the next day.

Jakey's Last Full Day

Tomorrow I meet Jakey's new mom in Ocala and pass him off to his new life. I wanted to get him ready and have extra time with him today. Jerry & I took all three to the vet for nail trims and then to the dog park for a little fun.

This is Daisey relaxing on the picnic table at the dog park. Today it got to 85. Summer is here!

Then I took Jake to lunch and to Pet Food Warehouse to buy food, treats, & toys - basically his dowry. LOL I wanted to send familiar food to avoid tummy upset right away.

Then I got this crazy idea to take a photo of Jake on a Harley! So, I drove to a Harley dealership and waited till someone came out. This beautiful blond woman was gracious enough hold Jakey on her bik so I could take a photo. How cool is that?

Wii Fundraiser

Win A Wii!!
This fundraiser will benefit dogs like Anna Banana (below) who went through heartworm treatment and almost died from an embolism. Emergency vet care is critical to some dog's survival and it is very expensive.

"The Trop"

Jerry and I went to an event a while back at Tropicana field and I took some photos of the interesting tile work on the long walkway from the parking area to the arena. Now that's baseball season and the RAYS are playing again, I thought it was a good show to share a glimpse of their home field

They have beautiful large palms (I believe they are date palms but I am no expert) and I've always liked the way sun shine through a tree canopy.

No question that is a sea turtle.

And a RAY.

A shot of how long and big the tiled walkway is. It's a work of art.

Shooting away from the trop toward downtown.

Easter Sunday

Daisey was the chosen one today and got to go wtih us to my mom's house for dinner. For the observant folks, yes that is a Valentine's dress. I was in Arkansas for Valentine's day so she never wore it :) The bad news, for Daisey, was that a trip to granny's involved a bath first.

The Easter dinner table. We had turkey, dressing, gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, white beans, corn, cucumber salad, biscuits, cornbread, and peach cobbler.

My plate. Notice there are no sweet potatoes. I don't eat orange foods. Wierd, I know.

A collection of scraps left over from everyone's plates.

Daisey eating her Easter scrap dinner. We brought some turkey home so the boys got a bite too. They are all passed out for the evening, LOL.

Sarah wanted to walk Daisey so I taught her the proper way to hold a leash. She thoughrt Daisey was strong.

Photo of my mom and my cousin Lea. The photo of MIL Marge and cousin Erica came out too blurry to use. Jerry was unhappy with me taking a photo of him in the recliner so I didn't post it. His eyes were all red from the excessive oak tree pollen - lots of people are a mess.

Neighborhood Muscovy

Broke Wing So, back in March a mama Muscovy showed up with 14 ducklings in the pond across the street. These ponds are retention pond...
